I must admit I'm really pleased to this is happening but two things also strike me;
1. It may be only a rumour, certainly to be taken with a big pinch of salt.
2. If it does go ahead it will almost certainly be the death of Alan, either by Steve choosing to kill him off, or by the movie not being as succesfull as it could be. Alan is certainly a very British character and he might not be as enjoyed on an international basis as much as he was on the British small-screen.

It would be nice to have a movie, but we don't want it to end up like those old 'Porridge' movies, that should have been made for TV in the first place.

As much as I'd like it to be true, most of the crap Neil Shaun writes is rubbish!

Neil Sean is very often on Yorkshire TV, and he does just throw up a lot of rumours, sometimes. To say that any movie will be the end of Alan Partridge is a bit pessimistic. If it turns out bad, just disassociate it from the TV show. I know this is a different scenario, but the awful Mr. Bean movie didn't make the old TV shows any less enjoyable. Even if Alan is not used again, we've still got more than 15 hours of Partridge material to refer back to, unlike Basil Fawlty fans, who have only six hours. Anyway, Coogan says that he will not kill off Partridge and I, for one, believe him. Why would he want to?

My sentiments exactly. Alan is his pension and he knows it.

Yeah, probably rubbish. Have you read the bit about Bono and J-Lo? That hasn't happened, has it?

Coogan has stated on television that he has no plans to even use 'Alan' again
