This new DVD release is marvellous news; in fact I was present at the gig at the Albert Hall, as were Narcissistic Sports Pimp, Joff and Longstanton Spice Musem. A very funny evening...
Alan's new goatee beard looks somewhat tragic; a middle-aged man attempting to recapture his youth...

And of course Stevey C's recent dalliance with Ms Love (and it's their hotel room, what they get up to in there is their business, though the latest from the papers has Steve claiming "I didn't get up to anything!!") is surely nothing more than a publicity stunt to ensure large sales of this DVD of course! Which is just as well, as she looks like a trapped boy. Looking forward to this. Now I'll finally get to see those VH1 special things, of which I managed to catch about half of one! (Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes!)

Mmm, good call, Gid...I wonder if "The Love" has upcoming musical releases to promote?
Anyway (thankfully), this all appears to have been denied by both parties and can be deemed as blabbering crap.

Have seen a preview copy of this and it's great. Look out for a review soon over at coogans-run! There will be a comp to win 5 copies soon, also.

I'm very very jealous.....well done to you for being....erm...clever? and obtaining a preview copy....(didn't envolve any round trips to Hong Kong by any chance did it??) One question though (well...ANOTHER...more serious question after the fun slice of a previous question) How much actual AP is there on the DVD? Because it sounds just like he's presenting other comedians, does he get his own section too?

Yes - on the night he interviewed the Milky Bar Kid as well.
Until I see the DVD to confirm it one way or the other, I will remain convinced that the guy who played the policeman in this sketch was the same actor who took the role of the copper who pulled Alan over for his traffic cone misdemeanour in the first series of IAP.

Because it sounds just like he's presenting other comedians, does he get his own section too? There's quite a bit, actually. Alan introduces most of the acts, so there's a good 5 mins of material between each one. I reckon of this, approximately 50% is 'new' material, and the rest re-workings of the material from the 1998 'Man Who Thinks He's It' tour. As Saniflow rightly points out, Alan finishes the show with the milky bar kid interview (which we have seen since on the recent Comic Relief). Luckily, the VH1 adverts and the new interview with Roger Daltry make it worth buying for any fan of OAP.

Still, at least it's cash in hand. It's a bit of a shame Steve feels the need to re-use some segments of his material though. Like during the Anglican lives section where he repeats the facts of the day from the Comic Relief special.....why? There's no need for that!! It's midly cretinous, I probably should have bigger fish to fry, but it annoys. But it won't detract from my enjoyment of this DVD. Come back on Alan and carry on...playing...

The extras definitely enhance the DVD; hilarious interview with Roger Daltrey ("I ended up spooning her in front of Newsnight"), plus the VH1 segments.
The gig itself is a slight let down; one or two acts appear to have been omitted (the excellent Jimmy Carr routine, plus The Rutles, though this wasn't such a bad thing), plus Little Britain seem have been "bigged up" for the DVD, even though on the night they were just another one of the acts. They appear at the end in their own titled section (on the night I believe they came on just before the Milky Bar Kid sketch; Alan says "thanks, guys" at this point, even though on the DVD it was Noel Fielding on his own just before that).
And it was the same actor playing the policeman; excellent continuity!
