Tristram Shandy: A Cock And Bull Story and its director Michael Winterbottom are the subject of this Sunday's South Bank Show. The film will be on general release in January. This past Monday I saw a clip on Film 2005, and somewhat oddly Coogan and Rob Brydon appear to also play themselves in the film; the clip was a hilarious dialogue between the two of them where Brydon ridicules Alan Partridge and his voice.

I saw this film at the London film festival a few months ago and it was hysterically funny. Rob Brydon is undoubtably the star of the film and the relationship he has with Coogan in the film is pretty much like their real life one. They seem to be some kind of double act now, i can see them hosting some shows together in 20 years time ala Ant & Dec. Theres a great bit where Rob's asking Steve to trace around his bald patch with his finger, Steve refuses numerous times and finally gives in.
p.s. i haven't posted on this site for about a year, i'm very bored..great site though.

Thanks for this, actionslacks - the film seems to be due for release in a couple of weeks, so very much looking forward to it (not sure if there will be an official premiere, which, er, one can loiter at...). The thought of Brydon and Coogan ending up as a mainstream TV double act in the distant future is hilarious; perhaps as the long term replacement for the Two Ronnies, though the image of Coogan introducing an ageing Elaine Paige or Barbara Dickson during the programme is hideous - I haven't thought this through. Coogan will also appear in at least two other films this year. It's a shame you don't post on here more often - where have all the others gone?
