yeah! thats the one! where did you see him do stand-up? i think Jerry did a show a few years ago, but no-one i knew was as obsessive as me about it so i didn't go. boo hoo. bloody great news about the DVD's ..must have them... now!!!!! I saw him in my living room... on tv. I havent seen any stand up comedians live, although I very nearly went to see Peter Kay but didn't get invited. He is hilarious though, the next time he comes to Belfast i'll be there. Jerry would have been good live, as long as he brought Kramer. Definately good news about the dvd's. All I need now is mney to buy them, anyone care to donate?

Did anyone see Red Dwarf last night?
I'd forgotten how funny it was! it was the episode in which rimmer takes the sexual magnetism virus and then all the women at the officers dinner are after him!
Then he numbs his groin area with an injection and his legs stop working and he's walking around all mad!
gotta love Rimmer

Dads Army. Well maybe not. Good for its time though.
I'd have to say........Neighbours.... the episode where Toadie and his wife (Dee?) are in a car accident is an absolute gem.... you guys may not have seen that one yet...whoops.
The list of good comedies out there is too long....Simpsons hasn't been mentioned yet so I will then, Ripping Yarns - theres a classic, The office, Blackadder, just to name a few.
But on the topic of Rimmer: Does anyone remember the series the Brittas Empire? That was good for a while.

Does anyone remember the series the Brittas Empire? That was good for a while. Brittas Empire was classic for the day, at least the first few series' were. It then went a bit downhill. I seem to remember Colin who had a awful boil on his face (puss infected), and always had his right hand in a bandage. Never looked clean that man. Of course, there was Gordon Brittas' wife, Helen. I'm sure she was on cocaine or something! Not a stable woman. Got to mention the timid receptionist Carol, who kept her baby under the desk. Great sitcom!

Arm Wrestling with Chaz and Dave.
Any show that creates a great little "world" that draws you in so you learn to associate with the characters and enjoy every quirk and comment (shows such as Faulty Towers, The Office and Partridge) is truly a great comedy.

Fawlty Towers is very over-rated. There are one or two good episodes, but the rest are mediocre. There are times when it stops being a comedy and starts to be deeply disturbing. To me, Coupling is the most pointless and boring comedy in the history of the world. I love The Simpsons and Police Squad! in Colour.
