On the 19th Apil 2005 a spokeswoman from Baby Cow Productions said ""A film is in the pipeline but there are no concrete details yet."
After his last series in 2002, Coogan said he would only reprise the Norwich DJ role in one-offs and TV specials. The spoof presenters last appearance was in Comic Relief 2005.
Surely the big screen is the next logical progression for the Alan Partridge character.
What do you think the new movie will be about? Alan gets a new series on TV, Alan's trip to B&Q for more tungsten tip screws that goes horribly wrong etc?
Looking at previous British TV programmes that have been made into films e.g. On The Buses, Porridge, Steptoe and Son - Are they generally a bad idea, and could Partridge disprove this?
Will Coogan have to change the character to suit different audiences e.g. the US?
Post your feedback here.

Hmmmm, good point! I luv Alan Partridge but I dont want him to spoil himself with the making of this new film! I do wanna see more of him. It's so confusing! I have to say, I enjoyed all the Only Fools and Horses series but found the film a bit boring, the same goes for Rising Damp and Porridge. They're all absolute classics, and give me proper jelly belly laughs but not so much on the films. But I did enjoy all the films starring Steve Coogan and still found him hilarious. I just loved him playing Tony Wilson in 24 hr party people especially the bit where he goes "I have not got big hips" ha ha, he plays the part so well and had me in stitches!.......So, maybe a film may work. Or he could do like small sketches merged into one big film for the big screen! ;D

I have mixed feelings about a new movie, it could be a wash-out as hes done such good work so far and introducing quality new characters like 'Jed Maxwell' and 'Dan Moody' will be a tough ask. I think producers wil try to capture a new audience bringing in new BIG jokes and punchlines where, as in the 1st series, suttle comments and insults are where Partrdige is at his best.
Give it some thought before attempting the movie...

Music to my ears that was last night on Jonathon Ross. Sounds good for the Alan Partridge film.
